Jn 13:1-30

  • Jesus loved his own (people) who were in the world
    • he now showed them the full extend of his love (or loved them to the last)
      • -> to die for them
  • devil prompt Judas Iscariot to betray Jesus
  • Jesus washed his disciples' feet
    • because
      • he knew
        • his Father had put all things under his power
        • he had come from God and was returning to God
    • Peter refused
      • you shall never wash my feet
    • Jesus replied
      • unless I wash you, you have no part with me
        • why? what's the significance of washing his feet?
        • Jesus said also that later they would understand. Did they?
    • Jesus explained why
      • it's true that I am your teacher and Lord
      • now that I washed your feet, you should wash one another's feet
      • I have set you an example that you should follow
  • whoever accepts Jesus accepts the one who sent him
  • Satan entered into Judas
