- Paul began his 3rd missionary trip
- Apollos at Ephesus
- a Jew born in Alexandria
- he was learned and knowledgeable of the scripture
- spoke with great fervor
- knew only baptism of John
- Priscilla and Aquila invited him home and explained the way of God
- Apollos went to Achaia to
- debate with the Jews and refuted them
- proving from the scripture that Jesus was the Christ
- When Apollos was in Corinth, Paul arrived at Ephesus
- he noticed that the disciples had not received the Holy Spirit
- Paul baptized them again in the name of Jesus
- Paul placed his hands on them
- the Holy Spirit came on them
- the spoke in tongues and prophesied
- there were 12 of them
- for 3 months Paul preached in the synagogue
- then some became obstinate and maligned the Way
- so Paul left them and went to lecture in the hall of Tyrannus
- for 2 years he preached in Achaia
- to both Jews and Gentiles
