Lk 18:1-17

• 1st Parables on Prayer
• a judge
• neither feared God
• nor cared about men
• a widow
• kept coming to him with the same plea for justice
• for some time he refused
• but just because the widow kept bothering him, he will see to it that she gets justice
• God's selected people cry out to Him day and night, He will see that they get justice, and quickly!
• => always pray and not give up!
• 2nd Parable on Prayer
• a Pharisee
• prayed to (or about) himself, I did this, didn't do that...
• a tax collector
• dared not look up to heaven
• beat his breast and plead for God's forgiveness
• the tax collector will be justified before God
• For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted
• => be not self-righteous
