- 1st Parables on Prayer
- a judge
- neither feared God
- nor cared about men
- a widow
- kept coming to him with the same plea for justice
- for some time he refused
- but just because the widow kept bothering him, he will see to it that she gets justice
- God's selected people cry out to Him day and night, He will see that they get justice, and quickly!
- => always pray and not give up!
- 2nd Parable on Prayer
- a Pharisee
- prayed to (or about) himself, I did this, didn't do that...
- a tax collector
- dared not look up to heaven
- beat his breast and plead for God's forgiveness
- the tax collector will be justified before God
- For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted
- => be not self-righteous
