- crucified Friday morning around 9 am (15:25)
- died 6 hours later (15:33)
- Buried Friday night (15:42, Mt27:57)
- the day before the Sabbath
- Rose to live Sunday
- after Sabbath (16:1)
- first day of the week (16:2)
- Jesus Anointed by the woman (Mary, see Jn 12)
- v8: she did what she could
- v8b: to prepare for Jesus' burial
- in memory of her the story will be told wherever the gospel is preached in the world (v9)

- follow someone in the city who's carrying a jar of water
- ask the owner where is 'my guest room'
- it'd be a large upper room, furnished and ready
- Jesus points out one of the Twelve will betray him
- one who dips bread into the bowl with me
- it'd be better for him if he had not been born
