Mk 12:38-13:13

• v40: pray for show->will be punished most severely;
• v42: two very small copper coins (worth only a fraction of a penny)--that's everything she's got; it not that she had no use of such a small amount of money, that's all she had to live on (v44);
  
• v43: Jesus points out that she had put more into the treasury than all the others; why more? obviously it's not the absolute amount, but the relative amount to what she had; that's the point Jesus is making here; and that's probably the reason he was watching in the first place;
  
• 13:2: Jesus predicts the destruction of the Temple--not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down;
• vv4-8: signs of the end (these are the beginning of birth pains):
  
• many false Christ
• wars and rumor of wars
• nation will rise against nation
• kingdom against kingdom
• earthquakes in various places
• famines
  
• v10: the Gospel must first be preached to all nations; a prerequisite?
• v11: Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit; Jesus predicts his disciples brought to trial and instructed them on what to say;
• v13: he who stands firm to the end will be saved;
