• v18: Peter (rock), on which Jesus builds his church, and the gates of Hades (hell) will not overcome it. I once used the latter part of this verse in my dreams to fend off the devil.
• v21: Jesus predicts his death.
• v22: Peter rebukes Jesus.
• v23: Jesus replied, 'Get behind me, Satan! ...'
• v24: the price of following Jesus:
• deny himself
• take up his cross
• follow Jesus
• v25: want to save life -> lose it; loses life for Jesus -> find it;
• v26: gaining of the whole world vs. forfeits his soul;
• 17:1: Jesus took the three to a high mountain (transfiguration):

• v2: The transfituration:
• his face shone like the sun
• his clothes as white as the light
• v3: Spoke to Jesus were:
• Moses
• Elijah
• v5: bright cloud enveloped them and a voice from the cloud:
• this is my Son
• whom I love
• with him I am well pleased
• Listen to him!
• v8: saw on one except Jesus afterwards.
