Mt 12:22-45

(This note is back-posted. I missed the devotion for this day--first time this year--because of a meeting at 7:30 am.)

• v24: Jesus accused of 'driving out demons by the prince of demon.'
• v33: good tree->good fruits, bad tree->bad fruits (2nd time this is said).
• v36: even the 'careless word' one said will be accounted for on the day of judgment. Speak carefully, especially concerning spiritual things.
  
• v37: condemned or acquitted by 'our words'.
• v38: Pharisees requested a 'miraculous sign' from Jesus.
• v39-42: the sign will be Jesus 'in the heart of the earth' for 3 days and 3 nights--similar to the prophet Jonah. But Jesus is bigger than:
• Jonah; and
  
• Solomon
• v43: what do evil spirits do when they come out of a man? They 'go through arid places seeking rest' and cannot find none. Eventually they want to return.
